Who's behind it and how the recommendations get made.
Small Kitchen Sorted exists because almost every "best kitchen gadget" list assumes a kitchen with room in it. The advice that's out there is written for people with an island, a pantry, and a drawer to spare.
This one is written for the rest of us — and it's written by someone cooking in a small kitchen, not by someone reviewing products from a large one.
So this site is narrower on purpose. Everything here is chosen and reviewed against one question: does it fit, and does it still work once it does? A dish rack that's brilliant unless your counter is under twelve inches is not brilliant — it's the wrong recommendation, presented confidently.
How products get picked
- They get bought. Products recommended here were purchased at retail. Nothing is sent free by a brand, and no brand has any input into what appears.
- They get measured. Dimensions on product listings are frequently wrong or measured at the widest point. The numbers on this site come off a tape measure.
- They get used. For long enough to find the annoying part, because there is always an annoying part.
What every review includes
One honest drawback, minimum. If a page can't name something a product does badly, the product hasn't been used enough to write about yet.
